that's one reason i've decided to never ever say anything about my sexuality - it's none of their fucking business and i don't want to put up with their bullshit
maybe if you talk to him and make him understand how that feels? or better yet, write it all down and just give him the letter - i find it's easier to get your point across if they can't argue back at you
